Evening from Lloydy :)
« on: 20 October 2010, 23:16 »
Hey all,

Nicknamed Lloydy by most at home, im 18 and have been driving legally since february this year.
My car history has been abysmal i must say, after not being able to afford a MK3 1.4, i decided to "borrow" my sisters 2007 ford ka 1.3i...was quick up to about 30 then it suddenly turned into a slug..oh and i crashed it when overtaking a caravan on a dual lane strip :embarassed:

Ive been into cars since i remember, and have worked as a saturday boy at PowerStation (www.powerstation.org.uk) for 3 years before leaving to concentrate on A levels and University. I learnt a hell of a lot there, and my theory is you do it properly or you dont do it at all, therefore when modifying i will save up for the best

Ive also worked for another company known as ReallyFQ who disbanded early this year, as "trackside maintenance" at the nurburgring...was the best holiday ive ever had by far, and would go back within a heartbeat if i could afford it.

Currently trying to find a 1.8 SE Mk3 Golf, and Stage One of my project on it is a complete exhaust makeover, ie a 4-2-1 manifold, decat pipe and Scorpion Cat Back Kit...though the plan changes every day, its going to be on a budget however i should be able to pour my student loan into it

Im a fan of natural aspiration, and what i call "traditional tuning" so forged pistons, bespoke blocks and engine manifolds.

My home town is Cheltenham (alledgedly home of the cruise) but Im at Glyndwr University, studying (first year) a BEng Degree known as "Performance car technology" and am part of the Formula Ford and Karting Team there, both being a technician. The goal is to eventually move to Germany and become a DTM mechanic but theres a long way to go till that!ulary

Anyways im looking forward to hopefully getting some advice on what to do with Project Golf, and will speak to the MK3 members here regularly,
