Is it to get to the fuel tank as think I dropped something into it :O

I know on some cars you can reach it from the back seats just wandering if the golf was the same and if so how easy is it to get too

There's an access hatch in the boot if you lift the carpet up.

Just out of curiosity what did you drop in and how the hell did you manage it?

Unless its a volatile lighter I'm sure the fuel filter should stop somethings from getting through!

Well....I was siphoning petrol out of a jerry can with one of those cheap squeeze the top and the petrol goes from one the jerry can to the tank and i think when i pulled the hose out of the tank a bit may have been left be hind and may dropped into the tank and this may result in a blockage :O

Just have to wait and see lol until it start to jam up

Pop the plate off and have a look with a torch for god sake don't use a lighter.
