Noisy suspension.....
« on: 20 October 2010, 21:32 »
Gents, any ideas???

I have recently had JOM Spring caps put on my front suspension (which made no difference to ride hight!)

Since it was done, i have a creaking noise from the front suspension when turning the streering wheel, as if the springs are moving, and now if i hit a pot hole, it seems like i have no absortion at all as it makes a bit of a bang. It has Eibach 40mm lowering springs and uprated shocks too....Any ideas?

One more thing, sometimes once i have turned tight (full lock) left, then straightened up, the car starts pulling to the left??

Should i take it back to the muppet that put the spring caps on, or could this be another issue caused by replacing them?

Did you get your tracking checked after the lowering caps were fitted? If not that will probably be the cause of the car pulling.

As for the creaking did you grease up the coilovers when they were fitted? If not try covering them in grease, worked for me, also will help to prevent them from seizing in the future

Re: Pot holes - welcome to the world of stiff suspension! Also hitting pot holes won't do your tracking any good, so i'd advise driving around them in future  :lipsrsealed:

Hope that helps!

Creaking could be your top mounts.

Where they the right size spring caps?, because the size of the pigtails on the springs changed in mid 95 and your spring caps might have got wedged in the springs causing that creaking sound.
