Idle Valve 8v GTi
« on: 05 June 2003, 17:11 »
I have just recently had my car on the rolling road and everything was fine apart from my timing being 20 degrees out ???

Also they said that my idle valve was showing signs of wear, can these valves be overhauled or do they need to be replace outright? I have been looking to see how much they are i have seen them for ?164!

If it can't be overhauled, does anybody know where i can get one cheaper????

Thanks

The 8V ISV can't be overhauled only cleaned ( with Carb cleaner or simillar ) I got a second hand one from Central Breakers in Derby - 01332 371819. they will probably mail to you.
This sorted mine and have had no further probs. It cost 35 quid though.

Cheers
