uprated ARB drop link bushes dont fit......

Just taken delivery of H&R ARB's and as the front is 22mm I have to put in the drop link bushes supplied with it....problem is I cant get them to push in.

The bush is 33mm diameter and the inside of the drop link is 31mm

How do i get round this....is there such a thing as uprated drop links?

need more force is all. put bushes in hot water to soften, and put plenrty o copper grease on bush and drop link.  way i do it is to put bush on floor, then place droplink on top. apply pressure with foot then poke the lip of bush in all round the endge with large screwdriver. once in all the way, stamp on it hard.  vice would make easywork of it, but i didnt have one at the time

Was attempting this with a vice, copious amounts of cooper grease and plenty of cursing yesterday....will go for attempt no.2 tonight

Looking through the search function I came across a thread saying the drop links from vwspares are sh!t....anyone know a better place to get some?

I snapped the stud on the old ones removing them as they were so corroded....

no the vwspares ones are good, its the gsf ones which are poor. the ones to avoid have 13mm nuts on the droplinks, vw ones are 19mm. vws ones iirc are 17mm, but still better than the cacky ones with a 13mm nut

So latest update....I managed to get the bush into the drop link and its so tight a fit that it actually bulges out of the metal loop. The lips on the bush dont sit flush with the edges of the metal loop.

I thought I'd try in on the arb anyway and I had to use a vice to get it on and then back off again as once it was on it wouldn't move in anyway what so ever (and it was covered it copper slip!)

I cant help but think the drop links I have are not the right size. I cant be the first to have had this problem can I? Or am I just being special? 

I've seen G60 drop links for sale - would these be suitable and a little bigger?



Also RJ, you're right the vws ones are 17mm...checked it last night

hmm, does sound like they are too small.  I've only put poly bushes into genuine drop links!  g60 ones are no good, the bush holes are same shape but the eyelets are offset to the side
