Looks like I may have a knackered battery.  Went to start the Golf at the weekend and it was'nt happy.  It was'nt the best of starters anyway.  I check the voltage on the battery 10.4V figured that is not good.  So I take the battery out and give it an overnight charge.  Check it the following morning and has only managed to get to 11.3V and within 30 minutes drops to 10.4V

So I then take out my spare battery from my camper (Same Bosch Silver but only a 45A not a 60A) but should do to check.  As the camper has'nt been on teh road for a while this battery only reads 9.5V so on a nother charge we go.  Again only peaking at 11V

Sooooo I get the main battery from the camper and this is currently on charge so hopefully should have a t least one result.

Why not go out and buy a new battery I hear you say???  Well I could but I like to make sure of these things.  It could be I have a dodgy battery charger (max out charge at 11v??) So the batteries could be fine and I could have a knackered alternator.

Well try bump starting it, or jump starting it. Then check what voltage you have at the battery with the engine running to check the alternator's condition.
If you need a new battery, I'd recommend this guy. £45 delivered for an 075 battery (bigger than standard 063). 60aH and 605 cold cranking amps. Along with a working starter car feels like new when starting it
