Is your mechanic deffo sure it's your DMF?

There is an inspection plug you can pull out to, well I suppose inspect it somehow, can anyone else shed any light for the fella as to what to look for in the hole.

The inspection hole is, well if you look into the gap on the left hand side of your battery look all the way down and you may see a rubber plug you can pull out, sort of looks like the plug on a hot water bottle that is the inspection hole. It may not even have anything in the hole such as the said plug as mine doesn;t anymore as seems to have popped off and now lost.

the 5 speed derv engines can take the G60 clutch upgrade

Its the 6 speed dervs where it gets pricey 

Is this defo right for 5 speed tdi's? g60 clutch? and g60 fly? i feel its only a matter of time before i need to do something as i've had mine mapped today

Well as Rhyso said the G60 fly may not be that brill with all the torque the tdi chucks out

No way  of inspecting flywheel properly without taking box and clutch out,

Well there is an inspection hole that you can see from the top of the engine well to the right hand side of the engine bay but Toph was telling me that inspection whole is more for sorting the timing out as opposed to seeing if the DMF or clutch is fooked.

Yea, you can see the flywheel but only way of telling if its fooked is grabbing it and seeing how much play it has, when you rotate more than a couple of cm its fooked.
