easy check that switches n wiring are ok, hold the throttle just open so revs around 1.5k or so. push the wot switch on top of the throttle body, revs should then drop and go back up when you release it. if it does that, wiring is all fine. if not, its damaged somewhere

most signs are pointing to the valve, as when engine warm if u disconect it the car idles fine and as soon as its plugged back in the idle goes up and down, and idle is always worse after you have put your foot down.

now new idle valves my work can get one for £130 but i see sellers on ebay selling new ones for £60 no would there be any difference?

looks like it was bad engine timing guys, been garage and he changed timing on the cam, and ajusted the mixture, the car now idles betweek 1000-1500 which is what cam should do, mpg is up in the 30s and runs so much smoother, he reconed it could of been the bad timing messing up the idle valve.

the true test will be in the morning when engine cold. and when i get some time a motorway trip :)
