depressed (and a bit peed off) in dorset

as u know my golf is a bit cosmetically challenged so i got a s/h tailgate and front grill for it, try as i might i cant get the tailgate to line up a the botton to close :angry:

soooo i tried the grill and that wont line up at the botton with the clips :angry:

is it me?

anyone near bournemouth that can spare half hour over the weekend the help?

I guess it might need two pairs of hands or a second look, if you can drive it then maybe can help.. don't give up anyway, things should fit unless the body has been shunted hard sometime previously..

TBH Mickey it does sound like its you LOL...........  All bits were made in there thousand for a production line build and should go straight on.  Brain self harms after about an hour and needs time to heal using artificial stimulants.

More seriously, grill should fit unless a crap copy and the tailgate will be the latch fitment/alignment.  Take the lower catch off and sort out the tailgate fitment correctly first, the way it lines up. Then refit and adjust to suit.  Just patience and a little experience, hang in, it will all be ok.

 :smiley:thankx guys,just been to a mate of mine with a garage, hes just put the gti up on the ramps :cry:

she needs a lot of welding and sum seals etc, he said its not worth doing her up, sooo im gonna sell her and try and get something a bit more up together if i can  :sad:

id prob get more breaking her as she the 16v engine in her which is fine, but i have nowere to store her ands i need another car for work :sad:

iv listed her in the classifieds , dont know if im asking to much but she runs fine, and iv a few parts with it as well.

hey harlemex, u free to have a quick go at my tailgate today, i assume your mudedford way?

mite have a better chance of selling her it the boots working? :rolleyes:
