Spot on rubjonny, I was trying to tell Wayne the block, is the same, but as he said already the internal are different.

Does the ABF have piston cooling jets maybe rubjonny could confirm.

2E, early ADY and ABF do, late ADY and AGG do not. interesting, wayne do you know if jets can be bolted on to non jet equipped engines?

edit: early ABA have them too, late do not

edit2: also got on the bbm and they dont list a crank for the ABF conversion kits, so it does look like the cranks are interchangeable, maybe. obv you need later 8v block and crank if you want to run abf on abf mangament, either that or custom crank sensor hardware fitted somewhere else.

but this thread has sailed a little off course now due to hijacking. its almost like being on cgti  :grin:

Wahey, me thread's gone walkabout! Before you know it we'll all be going hammer and tongs in round 12,645 of 8v vs. 16v. And don't get me fookin' started on the VR6 lot!  :grin:
