Right a little info before I get to the problem. I have a 2005 GTI with the DSG gear box, and the low line display.
On the low line display you have a section on the right that shows what section of the DSG you are in, P, R, N, D and S then under that is shows what gear number you are in. Recently I noticed when I pulled up to traffic lights while in D, that this part of the display was flashing and the number gear I was in was not displayed. I carried on driving and the gear changes where fine, changed up and down fine. I pushed the lever over to the + and – section and used the paddles to change gear. This worked fine too, but it still didn’t show what gear number I was in. I pulled over and turned off the car. Waited a few seconds and started the car back up, and the gear section on the display was no longer flashing and the gear number was displayed, so it was back to normal. This has happened twice in the past few weeks.
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light onto what this is and if it’s something I should get VW to check out? The car is under warranty until the end of October. As I said before the car drives perfectly fine, it’s just this section of the display that was flashing???
