Autotrader v Ebay
« on: 29 January 2005, 17:24 »
I  am seriously beginning to think that ebay is a safer bet for buying cars than Autotrader at least you can give and receive feedback , been to see 2 mk 3 's now , finally got to see a 16v m reg today in Brighton metallic green  , nice drive............. broken wing mirror , missing both side trims , rust around windows on 2 doors , rust on main panel of 1 door , not having much  luck , shame as its about the only 16v about atm. Guy wanted ?2200 for it , having said that wouldn't  buy a mk 3 with rust anyways , spells trouble to me .

I think you just need to hold tight mate, one will turn up sooner or later, keep a look out on the for sale section on this forum, and the other vw related ones.

A lot of people go to see dozens of cars before they find the one for them.

But ebay is a good bet, i looked at a few cars off ebay when i bought my mk2, but the one i got was from autotrader.

Just sit tight mate one will turn up soon, and dont settle for 2nd best or go for a model you did not really want.

Paul

Also try your local free ads. Get it the morning it comes out and ring up any that interest you first thing as things in free ads tend to go quick if they're good.

I picked up my MKII 8v in my local yellow rag and it's turned out to be a bargian.
