lower skirting re-spraying
« on: 13 October 2010, 11:04 »
Ok guys looking to get the skirtings colour coded on my GTI, anyone have any good contacts for the north london area preferable north london somewhere. I have asked ARC but they seem to be so slow in coming back to me with a quote for the work.

Thanks

Tim

You may be better off buying some R32 sideskirts and using them instead. The GTI sideskirts haven't got a flat surface and they are a pig to flatten and get right. There have been quite a few who have sprayed GTI skirts, but not everyone manages a satifactory paint cover and finish.

you may be onto something there... my car is a GTI in laser blue pearl LC5J... is this the same spec as the R32.... Leading to my next question could I replace all the lower sections I would have sprayed for R32 parts (rear may be an issue with exhaust positioning...)

The R32 is Deep blue pearl metallic and not Laser blue.

R32 sideskirts will fit.
Edition 30 upgrade for the rear bumper would be the logical step for colour coding the rear, as would the Edition 30 front lower skirt. All are smooth and manufactured to be painted.

The ED30 parts aren't exactly cheap though.
