Is the Starter Motor from a MK3 Gti 8v the same as the one on the MK3 Gti 16v?

That's not good news. I can find loads of second hand 8v ones but not one for the 16v.
Oh well best keep searching.

at a push corrado and passat manual 4 pot ones will fit. only issue with them is they use a spade connector for the red/black wire rather than the nice waterproof black plug as on the MK3. given the choice id hold out for the right one

I'd ask people breaking their 16v's. Deano kindly found me a 16v being broken on ebay and I asked the guy and he had it still
