NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DONT put oil in there!!!!!!!!! its the inspection hole for lining up your timing mark on the fly wheel.
you will effectivly be pouring oil on your clutch! this is very bad!!!!

it a bit difficult to describe with out pictures. Haynes shows you how really well.

1. The car must be on level ground.

2. There is an oil level check plug on the end of the gear box in the left hand wheel arch. undo this plug. if oil flows out put the plug back in. if not leave it out.

3. Next remove the speedo drive from the gear box (this will give you your oil filling hole).

4. If oil flowed out of the oil level hole and the bung was replaced, top up your gearbox through the speedo drive hole with 0.5L of gear box oil.
If no oil flowed out of the plug hole fill the gear box with oil until the oil is just at the bottom of the oil level hole, put the oil level plug back in and top up your gearbox through the speedo drive hole with 0.5L of gear box oil.

job done.

please note: if your gear box was made after 1987 the oil level plug hole is 7mm higher and all filling can be done through this hole. oil level is to be at he bottom of this hole.

aye up me duck!
