Braided Hoses
« on: 12 October 2010, 20:28 »
I'm looking to getting some googridge braided hoses for a golf ti 16v (mk2 obv!), but have a few questions.

First, are they the best, or can abyone recomend another brand

And which set do i want? I see 4 and 6 hose sets. Apart from the obvious, whats the difference? Obviously i have front and rear discs

4 hose is front and rear, 6 hoses includes the ones over the axle.

Not to burn. Theres about 20 brick difference, works out around 10 a hose either way. Its for a conversion on a polo andhow, so i'll have to look to see if I'll need the 6.

Also, for best results, i'm going to want a gti master cylinder too aye? or this there an upgrade to this?

Its pointless not fitting 6!  whats 20quid.... and Goodridge & Aeroquip are the best braided lines and hoses that are out there...

depends where you buy it from dude! most places sell 4 line kit fro cars with drums, so 2 fronts and 2 beam flexis. but gsf sells a 4 line kit which is for gtis, 2 fronts and 2 rears, no beam flexis. bit pointless if you ask me, spose catering for the lazy spanner monkey who values looks over performance i guess

I'm sure 10 years ago the 4 line kit was for drum brakes, and the 6 line for disc brakes.
Like you said, pointless changing 4 out of 6 hoses for braided.
I think they are pointless anyway, unless the car is going on a track.
