oh well, thats not so bad then! cheered me up a bit. think the biggest expense is going to be replacing the strut, i was kinda hoping it was just the top mount...ive put another thread up with some pics if you want to have a glance at that, the drivers side top mount is shot to bits!

Mine has a hole that I could fit the tip of the pinky finger on the sill. Would that still fail MOT? Might cut the section, treat the rust and weld over it before my MOT

from my post about the M.O.T i can say if you book it for an actual mot, and you fail, you no longer have a valid mot.

mine got an advisory on the CV Boots, should i get that checked out very soon?

Yeah, if im right, the CV boots basically hold the grease in that enable the CV joint to keep moving, if its got a hole, or is looking like its on its way out its best to change them, a hole in the CV boot will allow the grease to escape, and no grease + CV joint = a nice day pay for a mechanic.

I'd just change them mate. Go to GSF's website, they sell CV boots for about a tenner each
