This is how it ends...
« on: 09 October 2010, 12:29 »

Friday morning 6.30, I went too fast into the corner (~40 mph), for the first time ever the grip was not there (close to a bridge, must have been v. slippery) veered onto the other side and hit a car coming the other way. Airbags went on, the results you can see for yourself...
I'm ok, just sore and a little bit burnt from the airbag, could have been much worse... The other guy was fine too, annoyed maybe. He was very unlucky to be there at that time.
The car - looks like badly damaged possibly a write off.

What can I say - I drive through that bend every day and never ever had any problems. I guess that wasn't my day.

Be careful. You may not be that lucky
Golf GTI VI DSG - died on the road, resurrected, came back as zombi, sold
R - rising blue, 5-door, DSG, ACC, something something...

Awful mess. A write off IMO. So sorry for you.
Glad you are ok. Remember at the end of the day it's only a car and can be replaced. Your life and health are infinitely more valuable.

Yes, I did. It's really up to the insurance company if they want to repair it or write it off.
Don't get upset guys, but if I get the money I will seriously think if I want another GTI... I may not be able to afford the insurance renewal
