Mk 2 1.3 CL Thermostat Housing

Hi People,

 I've got a 84 Mk2 Golf 1.3 CL with a HUGE water leak.

 The plastic thermostat housing (That the top hose of the rad attaches to) has split big time.

 I've tried GSF, the local car factors all the local breakers but cant seem to find one of these for love nor money.

 I took a gamble on a bit on ebay but that looked like it was for a 1.6, thought I had a bit coming from another source as well but that arrived today ans appears to be a variant of the 1.6 type..

 I've had a bit of a play with the two that I've has turn up here but there is no way of "Making Them Fit" the bore in the flange is different and the pitch of the mounting holes it out to.

 The part that has split I could possibly try and repair but I'm really doubtful it would last any time at all looking how its gone....

 The original part number as stamped is 052121121E..

 Can anyone help me source one of these, at the moment its looking like I may have to scrap the old girl over a £5 bit of plastic.

It is listed on VW classic parts website:

So it may be best to try the VW dealership if you have one near you. You are then guaranteed a decent quality part. The classic parts website only lists as being 8 euros.
If you have no luck through the dealers, try sending the classic parts people an email.

My main dealer Euro Canterbury said quote "There are none in the country" so kinda gave up on a genuine part at that point...

Tried the link above but cant seem to get on, get a forbidden message, have save the link for future. To be honest if i get a couple of sub-standard sh1te parts that will do me, will give me time to knock up a 1/2 decent aluminium part. Thing is I do about 15k in the old girl and cant afford to have her laying on her back with bits in the air... Thanks for the replies guys...

I might have a spare in my shed...will try to check tomorrow but picking mrs and young 'un up from the hospital tomorrow

If I'm honest I cant remember what the guy said, I think he said it was no longer available, will phone a couple of other main dealers tomorrow..
