aaarrrrggghhhh
« on: 28 January 2005, 10:02 »
Spent 1 hour stuck in traffic on the M27 last night to go to Ferndown to view a 16v mk 3 black gti from Autotrader for ?2495, was really keen , guy sounded very nice on the phone , car had only done 87k , fsh , etc pull up at the guys house, have a good look over body work , 1 quite nasty scratch on the rear wing , popped the bonnet ...............lo and behold ......an 8v engine , the guy was very apologetic said he didn't realise ( how could he not realise)  by this point I was not a happy bunny  .... and to top it all my bf's short wheel based audi quattro decided not to start up for an hour . beginning to think I am going to have to settle for an 8v , the engine looks so pathetic in comparison to the 16v tho .... wish  me luck.

There's nothing wrong with an 8 valve ! .......... so long as there's a supercharger strapped to it

^ LOL!

I would deffo wait for a nice 16v to come along you wont regret

that car u saw sounds almost like mine (apart from the dodgy engine..) i've had mine since Oct 2003.. and even then it was really really hard to find one with under < 100k on it... in the end i paid ?4500, and it had 75k on it (up to 82k now)... fully loaded with leather interior, air-con, sun roof etc...

btw was it badged externally as a valver?
Used to have a '97 MK3 16v GTI 3dr in 'Black Magic'... now have a '55 Civic Type-S...
