Considering buying a set for the golf as mine need replacing due to damage..

Is the license plate sticky tape stuff from halfords actually good enough or will my plates fall off? Don't particularly want to drill holes through the plates..

You can get round this by buying number plate surrounds.  I have some wolfsburg ones coming, I really like how they look.  The double sided tape is good, I put four strips on my old ones and were a job to take off when I needed to replace them.

The sticky pads from Halfrauds work perfectly! Had mine on for a WHILE now with no problems and it looks tidy with no holes :afro:

Trim tape is a better bet for sticking them on to be honest.

i just received my pressed metal plates from Dubmeister and purchased the surround for the rear .

i used the original screw holes to fix the rear surround in and then the rear plates just clicked in .  On the front I used Halfords double sided pads .  I did use 2 lots on them though

How did you get the documents to them?  I want to order but it says you've got to send them in.  Unwilling to send important documents through the post tbh.

+1

I had my plates and documents back within a week.  Sent them on the Monday, arrived back with me on a Thursday

Sent them via special and put the fee of a replacement V5 as the value of the documents should the worst happen.  I also photocopied my V5

I was not keen on sending my paperwork in the post and did try hard to go down the route of scanning docs and e mailing .  But the have to have sight of original paperwork .   I did send it by special delivery ( did cost near £5.00 , this was insured for loss and you can track delivery on the internet .

Must say Dubmeister did receive docs in 24 hours ,  rang them the next day to confirm they have details and payment and if they have any issues , they confirmed they have completed them and they are in the return post .

All in all good service and plates do look different to others .
