Rite i have managed to get my front calipers finished today, needed to put a second coat on them, so heres a pic of them:

but on a more positive note i also went to collect my new wheels , got them home and inspected them closely to see what work is need to make them minters again, the main things was that they are all stright, no cracks and not much curb marks. They do need a good refurb though  but i can already see them look awsome when they are done.
Here are the pics of them:

The bloke i bought them off did start to rub a couple of them down this is why one of them looks very dull, one of them has loads of the paint flaking off and one of them is actually not in bad condition and still have a good polished finish which isnt bad considering they had been sat in a barn for a several years and not complaining considering i only paid £160 for them.
However whilst i had my RA's off the car to paint the calipers i could not resist but to put one of them on to see what they would look like

The new issue for me now is what tyres to get for them? But this can wait for a while until i have refurbed them. Let me know what you guys think?

Links tyres in louth. I think lloyd got a discount when he got 3 tyres at once so try them and I'll txt my mate see what he can get em for. Part from that 50 profile which is what you have on the ra's. :)

Having a think about the 195/45 and not so sure there would be that much stretch on that size? What i am planning on doing with these is putting some nice stretch tyres on and purly using them for summer and shows and if we ever do any track days then put the RA's back on.

Good progress Kai!
I suggest Porshie decals (just for laughs)
The ATS cups is actually one of my favourite alloys of all time simplistic with a statement
Are you refurbing them?

Yeah i am going to do them to save some pennys, i use to do it for a living so i know what i am doing. Just not sure about what colour i am going to do them? I do really like them too and have been looking for ages for a set but they alway went above what i wanted to pay, looked at loads like Borbets and bbs splite but always want the ATS, like you said they arent over the top but just sit very nicly on the car.
Still need to get my exhaust done but really need to get it onto a ramp as its not that easy to do, so this will be my next job at my mates and think i will do the suspension then too, slowly getting there   Just wish my logbook would hurry up so i can at least enjoy it

Well i have always wanted a gti mk2 or mk1 but because of my old job really didnt have time to get one or work on one but now i am college i have a fare bit of time (you know what us students are like ) and what better car to train then a golf gti  Yeah i am still waiting, it is taking ages but then again i actually had a look at when i got the car and it was only 4 weeks ago so still have a couple of weeks before a kick off.
I suppose though that it is not that bad really as this has given me the time to do the little jobs that i wanted to get done to it
