No real idea mate  but if you find a way then please tell me got mine on E-bay had nothing but timewasters and idiots asking mostly questions that are on the advert some of the offers really arent worth printing ..I  have 80 people watching it so far and noone has asked to  view  I`m going to take the plunge and stick it on Auto Trader website I think..

I've sold all my cars recently on Autotrader. Just go for the Website only for 2 weeks, as most people access it over the net now rather than buy the mag. It's only about ?15.
Ebay is generally crap, and I reckon if you've got a good honest golf go for Autotrader, PVW or Club GTI.

^^^^ Wise words that man - Everyone i know that buys through Autotrader uses the web, and normally does a national search. Go for web only advert and let it run till sold. You can edit the advert whenever, so you can change the picture/advert after two weeks if it hasn't sold, which makes it look like a different car.

My opinion is that ebay is good for advertising because people from all over the country will see it but dont expect a sale over ebay, to be honest i wouldent accept one anyway (full of scams and overseas bidders). If somebody see's ?it on ebay and is genuinely interested they will contact you and arrange a visit. i live in the north east and sold my golf thanks to ebay to a guy down south. That wouldent happen with autotrader!

The trouble you will have is that your car is not the run of the mill average cab. Its far better and with that comes a far higher price tag. and there are only a limited amount of people looking for a car like yours. so the wider the distribution of the advert the better i say in your case.

If you were selling an average ford escort autotrader would be best bet.

Best of luck anyway. I would love to buy your cab but its way out of my budget, im just after a 1st car for my wife round the ?500 mark.

E Bay's so good he posted it twice !

I agree with what was said though. I bought my car from a guy in Hemel Hempstead having seen the car on E bay and travelling down from Notts. Well pleased.

It's a good way of promoting it and due to the work it's had on it you need lots of pics and a long description for people to be interested. Any genuine buyer I think would get in contact and have a look at the car. Possibly not if it was standard as I've sold a car through e bay but it was a cheap Gti ( still miss it now  ) and the buyer didn't come and have a look at it.
Find that a bit odd myself?

Also worth sticking it in yiur local paper if it's free but again cos it ain't standard and isn't cheap don't expect much from it.

Autotrader has to be the best way as it is so easy to just look on the net and specify how far you want to travel to view a car. I know VW Driver magazine used to have free space in the monthly publication (www.autometrix.co.uk) for selling cars. For free its worth a go but possibly a bit limited on circulation, i..e usually bought by VW enthusiasts as opposed to people after buying a VW but you never know

post it on every forum you know!

www.golfgti.co.uk obviously?
www.edition38.com
www.dubforce.net
www.clubgti.co.uk
www.designadubs.com
www.performancevwmag.com
www.no-rice.com
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/junction29 - Junction 29

then make up a poster and put it in your window if you drive the car at the moment. Tesco's have a customer board you can also put it on.

if i was you I'd change the wheels for your pics. not everyone has good taste for those wheels and may be swayed by the set you're selling on it.

Cost to do that - ?0?
