2.0 8v bottom end conversion into mk2 gti

i have a digifant 1989 engine believe the code is PB
anyone know what code engines i can use fort he bottom end 2.0 conversion??
can i use any from audis?? eg 80, 90 or 100??
some help would appreciated as new to all this VW lark
plus if anyone has the required parts let me know
also looking for a performance cam and an uprated head if anyone is selling

audi 80 engine with code 3a will fit. although my audi 80 engine is a later AAD engine that uses a longer stroke than the 3a. The old 3a engine that died was was replaced with an AAD bottom end but kept the 3a top end with has the high lift cams. The 2 together give much better performance.

You only need to change the engine mounts and it will drop straight in

You can also use a AGG or 2E from a mk3 with some mods.

MK3 2E code is direct fit, MK3 AGG and ADY are too but you need to change the dizzy for a 2E one. if you keep the std exhaust manifold and downpipe it all bolts together perfect without any modifications. some 4 branches will hit the tunnel due to the 2e being a taller block. several audi lumps as well as the 2 above will also fit, ABK being one I know of its the audi equivalent of the MK3 2.0 8v lump
