Battery recommendations

Anyone recommend a decent car battery? Looking at doing it as cheaply as possible, but finding the balance between value and performance.

Can I just unrecommended Halfords ones? They are total sh!t and have had two three year warranty ones  die within a year, one lasted 6 months.

Both put into MK3's by previous owners.

Didn't think of halfords crap, I usually avoid their brand apart from professional tools.

Cheap mate. I'm gonna call ECP though, £33 + VAT for a bosch, and I'll always trust bosch. If prices have crept up though I'll give your friend a call and confirm which one I need.

Oh and thanks for like Josho :afro:

Adi, got the battery from there. I've yet to try it on the car as the starter motor is bust but tomorrow I'll get the chance. Voltmeter showed 12.79v though so it's fully charged, and with 605 cold cranking amps and 60aH it seems a good battery (Website showed 570 cold cranking amps for this battery, but the sticker on the battery shows more). Also the one I received looks identical to the varta one http://www.advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk/carbatteryvartablued59.html except it hasn't got any stickers regarding the manufacturer or model. Seems a good deal though, £45 delivered with 4 years guarantee, can't really go wrong can it? Thanks for the recommendation
