I'd be trying eBay before going to VW - had a look and found this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Sat-Nav-DVD-disk-V3-2008-/300472661751?pt=UK_CE_GPS_Accessories_Software_ET&hash=item45f590f6f7#ht_500wt_1154
Not sure if its the right one?

Is this the same disk that goes into the MK5 Golf?

I had the same question when I got my golf last year. I ended up getting a disc from the stealers at £135. I did try a couple from ebay etc but they didn't work and didn't like the thought of throwing more good money away. Happy with the offical disc...
