Digi GTI Cold Start

Morning all !!

Here's a question for any Digifant GTI owners ....

When you start your Golf from cold, what revs does it hold to warm it up??  Since I got mine I had a few niggles with bouncey idel etc but that's all sorted now, the ISV does it's job good and proper but when it's really cold the revs don't get pushed up to help her warm up.

Now I know on a K Jet there's a warm up regulator - but what does the digifant have? I'm assuiming the revs should pick up too?

Any info would be gr8 !  :wink:

The digifant system is fully electronic, so it has a coolant temp sender for ECU.

Looks like I need a new Temperture sender then - I'm told although I've replaced it in the last few months that I have the wrong one!

Apparently I have the sender for the instrument panel and not the one calibrated for the ECU - dam GSF !!!

Calling all you Digi GTI owners .... !!

Same as I mentioned above really - just more noticable with the current weather; I changed the temp sensor / cleaned the ISV.

The idle doesn't bouncey - doesn't stall - just never gets artifically raised when it's cold like i would expect it too??

Surely when it's near zero degrees it should sit at 1500 rpm till it's warmer ??

Why?
The idle might be slightly higher when the engine is cold, but not that much more.
If it was idling at 1500rpm then you would have a problem.
Whats it idling at when engine is cold and warm ?

Around 1000 rpm constantly (although the hidden computer thingy in the MFA says 900 - 960)

I still would have thought in cold weather when starting first thing in the morning (sorry I don;t thin I made that clear!), it would raise the idle to help it warm up ??

No it shouldn't, well not to 1500 rpm.
On my vr6 it idles at 1000 rpm when really cold, as it warms up, the idle drops to about 750-800 rpm.

My 1990 8v sits at 1,100 rpm when it's cold first thing in the morning and 750ish when warm.
