Hey all, I recently had the clutch replaced on the golf, since then it has had an intermittent starting problem. Basically, you turn the key and all that happens is a click, one single click. For the first few days if I held the key in the turned position for a second or two it would fire up, then after this the car started normally every time for a couple of weeks but then today it started doing the 'click' thing again. Ive driven the car normally all day, work and back, to the chippy etc, until an hour ago when it wouldnt fire up at all. Turn the key, get a click, it sounds as if the fuel pump is priming(?!) when the key is held in the turned position but nothing else. Im sure this has been covered before but I can't really find the answer using the search function. Any help greatly appreciated.
Oh, forgot to say - the car bump started easily. Cheers.
Also, the battery is fine and 'twitting' the starter motor doesnt seem to help!
