you can buy boiled linseed oil from the shop. it comes in two forms, boiled and raw.

I personally have tried linseed oil and the effect are good but do not last. as mentioned get yourself a dedicated product.

Next on my shopping list is the plastic dye kit.

I have tried looads of detailing products, I think linseed works better although as said it doesnt last but it is very very cheap.

cheap is not always a winner when it comes to detailing products.

Yeah I completely agree, it's just I find even the more expensive products come off. Infact the only one I have found to be permanent is g4 http://www.gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/exterior-coatings/c4-permanent-trim-restorer & that turns out to be an expensive operation :(

for upto 2yrs protection its well worth the price tbh, exterior dressing is a tricky area in valeting and detailing as it doesnt last and lots of silicones are used in the mix which in some cases is undesirable but they last a bit longer than ones without, c4 well most of the gtechniq range is very new tech wise so definatly worth going for.
