Hi hattie,
It drove fine before lowering it- no probs whatsoever.. I think it was only a back end collision as front end looks fine- no signs of repair. Sorry bout the lads thing!!

What do you mean what is supposed to worn audiquattro?
You said the geezer reckoned something was worn so the tracking couldn't be set properly.
What exactly was that?

It was the bottom engine mount. The one closest to the sump. He reckons the engine moves when you accelerate..

I can't see that affecting the steering geometry really.
The best bit of advice i can give you is, try going to a another tyre place, and getting the tracking checked again.

If the guy did not set the camber right after 3 attempts I would be suprised if he set the camber either, so I would get that checked again.
Where abouts are you based? I got my tracking at camber done a few weeks ago at Demon Tweaks in Wrexham, mine was significantly out after lowering mine.

Diid you lower yours yourself?
The strut to hub bolts set the camber on a mk3, so removing the front struts will upset the camber.
The bolts are supposed to marked up position wise before removal.

No I got it done at a local garage, they are not specialists in suspension lowering, just a good friend of mine, who i trust with my car, i knew that he could not set the camber so I knew i would have to go to demon tweaks to get it set.

I think i will get the camber and tracking checked again. I dont think the tosser who did my car knew what he was doing anyway. Only thing is i paid ?50 to get the tracking and camber done. It's hard to find sum1 who you can trust on your car. Next thing i think is ally's- but my left rear wheel scrapes on the arches as it is and i've only got 15" BBS spokes. Reckon it's cos the camber is slightly more negative (or positive?
?)
I wanna take the wheel arches off but i'm afraid it'll look sh!t!! Also afraid of finding out my arches have been eaten by rust. Right now, i'm safe in the knowledge that i'm not quite sure!
Cheers for the comments lads...
