Turbo question..

Relatively simple question regarding turbo fitment!

2002 AUM Engined 1.8T Golf, would I be right in assuming that its a K03s?

Yes AUM's are K03s providing it hasn't been changed previously

You can tell as the K03s will have 8 compressor blades where as the K03 has 12.

Thats pretty much the answer I was looking for to be honest.

Taken the old one off and its got 8 blades, whereas the new one has got 12 and the inlet pipe doesnt fit the new one; that would point to the new one being a K03?

Excellent! Having an issue with the supplier of the new one, they are trying to baffle me with part numbers, build changes etc..

What's the name of the supplier?

If it don't have 8 blades it's not an s regardless of what say.

The one on top is a K03s. the one on the bottom is a ko3.

The difference is quite vast..

Although not all K03s have the large silencer on them and they can look like a K03 and the only way to tell is by the no. of blades.

If you have a turbo with a Silencer that looks like the top one and claims to be K03s but has 12 blades then it's likely to be a cheap knock off.

Borg Warner part numbers are K03-052, K03-053 or K03-058
