Has any 1 removed the rear silencer ( after cat - before back box) on a 16v, how much louder does it make it??? And are there any disadvantages to removing it???

Middle silencer. Removing it will make your car a fair bit louder especially if you have an aftermarket exhaust. No real advantages, apart from more noise.

removing the backbox makes pretty much no difference to noise
