Genuine VW Mudflaps for GTI wanted
« on: 22 September 2010, 10:04 »
I'm looking for a set of genuine vw front and back mudflaps.

Anyone got a set, please PM me.

Ta.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

They dont! They give the car a more complete look i think. Fitted mine last month and I love the look, plus it makes it look more lowered with them and the springs. I got mine from SteveP when I ordered my R lights. Probably best to go straight to VW Kev. keep away from cheap ebay copies!

Well for some strange reason the rear mud flaps for the GTI are a different part number.

1 set of rear mud flaps - 5K0 075 105 - £52.23

Standard
1 set of rear mud flaps - 5K0 075 101 - £39.40

Oh I forgot the fronts.

1 set of front mud flaps - 5K0 075 111 - £34

They do fronts only in combination with side member trim

1 set of front mud flaps - 5K0 075 112 - no price

I reckon 90% of the world's mudflap production is sold in the UK. You never see them in other countries, especially on modern sports cars.

Probably....
I suspect 90% of the worlds salt and grit is applied to the UK roads as the average UK motorist is too stupid to buy appropriate tyres for the weather...and expect the council to rectify their stupididy by making their summer tyres work in the ice....so people fit mudflaps to stop the crud peppering the sides of the car.

You don't see them on Sports Cars in the UK either!

Depends on which part of the UK you do your driving though. I live in the South West (England) and the temperature rarely stays below the 7 degrees recommended for winter tyres. So you then have the quandry of jacking the car up and changing wheels every day depending on whether there's a frost or not. You can see why people can't be arsed or aren't educated to run on winter tyres as it has been rare in recent history to actually need decent winter tyres. Apart from the last two winters I can't even remember the last time I had to buy a can of de-icer. Where I live even last winter we only had a couple of days of light snow all winter.

Coupled to that the average UK motorist is a f**king moron IMHO!
