Rear windscreen wiper..... HELP
« on: 24 January 2005, 10:36 »
Hi guys an gals...

am assuming that this topic has been covered? & answered in the past....

am having problem with my rear wiper, it was workinf fine when i first bought the car about 5 months ago, but recently I've been experiencing some problems with rear wiper, the front ones are perfect.

well what the problem is, when i go to squirt water out of the rear windscreen wiper, no water squirts out no matter how long i keep hold of the squirt for... but the wiper works fine

has anyone else out there been having this problem or had this problem with the 18 gti t, and if you have please please let me know how to fix it.

thanx guys...

Try putting a sewing needle in the hole where the water comes out, it might be blocked with hard water scum, if that does not work i think there is a little motor pump thats attached some where on the waterbottle, that might not be working.
Just a guess tho, i had this prob on my old XR2i.

^Yep.

It's either blocked, or the electrics are knackered, likely due to the pipe popping off at some point and frying the circuitry.

its a comon prob mate. if you try and squirt it and you can hear the pump makin a noise it could be the pipe pops off the motor in the boot. just take off the panel and push it back on nice and tight. or it could be anything listed above.but thats what happened to mine.

Also if the pipe has come off check the solenoid for the boot lock as the water gets in there and nackers the solenoid, you'll be able to tell cos it will be a bit rusty.

Hi boys and gals,

thanx? for the wiper solutions

but av got more worse problems then my rear wiper now, some MOTHER F@cka stole my pride an joy on monday nite,?

i cant belive it, they broke into my gym locker an stole my car keys an got off with my car
they knew exactly what they wanted, my pride an joy?

what piss me off the most was that the f**k*r follwed me to the gym, an then opened the door for me, an then stole my keys behind my back, if i fought him an lost the fight then i wont be that pissed, but the mother f@cka robbed it behind my back.

i thought i lost my car for good, but i got a knock on my door last night an two cops where outside my door, i thought they were gonna give me bad news, but they turned around an said they found it, WOW was that a big stress off my shoulders.....

well this morning, just went to see car in the compound, its was in a right state, mud every where, looked like they been off road init. but am happy to have my car back, doesn't look like much damage, looks like just scratches on front right wing, but gonna have to take it back to my mechanic in manchester, an the steelers to get it checked out fully, its gonna burn a BIG whole in my pocket....

anyways boys o yeah an gals cheers again for the wiper solutions...

o yeah one more thing, the f@cka moved into my car like it was his house, he left his clothes an lots of other things, one more thing he was planning on ringing the car, cos the cops found a card with written details on the back of another black golf gti turbo, so the asume he was gonna ring it, am so lucky.

anyways boys an gals, just thought i'll share my feeling with my other golf owners.

That's gutting mate
Someone at work took my car keys and moved my motor to a different space in the carpark a while back, I felt physically sick when it wasn't where I'd left it. Now my keys never leave my sight.
At least you got it back though, although a lot of people in your situation sell the car soon after it's returned because they just feel violated

cheers bruv,

was thinking of getting rid of it, but when i went an saw it today, it didnt look as bad as i thought it would be.
av only had the car for 6 months now, it took me for eva getting the exact colour, doors, mileage, etc
and now i just cant go an get rid of it.

the F@CKA only had it for two nights so i dont think he could have done much damage, plus the cops say its not been i any robbery's or petrol drive offs.

am gonna see what my mechanic say, an the steelers, after a diagnostics (excuse the spelling)

them T@wt still got my keys thow, so am gonna have to get keys recoded, and put a steering lock on the car.
plus i dont think il be bringing it back to work, so for the next 5 months il be driving sister car (pug 306)

anyways cheers topher.
