I use a over the steering wheel lock on the grounds it makes my car a little more faff to steal than someone else's. I know that an organised thief can easily get past it.

However as the old running away from the lion joke goes - I only have to be slightly faster than the next guy!
I've been a target for 'halfords spec' saxos for almost three years now!

Use dental floss, slip it behind an edge of the badge and use a sawing motion to cut through the adhesive behind it. Then use a hairdryer to warm up the residue and remove. Finally polish the area so it blends in with the rest of the boot.

Think you'd need a new adhesive pad when reapplying

It also helps if you pre-heat the badge first

if someone is able to break into a golf and start it, they will be able to remove a steering wheel lock in seconds.

Beef up security a bit more ?. Maybe get one of those steering wheel locks & fit that every night.
..........very hard if not inpossible to start a golf without the key these days & most of the steering wheel locks are insurance approved & anything that stops/slows them down has got to be worth it.
