Losing revs need advice
« on: 23 January 2005, 18:39 »
I have a 1.3 vw mk2 1990 golf. The other day it started to give some problems.
It idles, then when i give some gas it lose all its revs and just dies.
I don't know what it could be.Thought it might be a fuel line block or something with the carb.

I wasn't able to drive it.Then i took a bit of paper and jammed it into the metal flap in the air intake to keep it semi-closed.

Now it drives but i don't think it can be good for the car.
Anyone had problems like that?

sounds like it could be a vacume issue. check all the pipes are going to the right places and listen to them. if they're a split you'll hear it.
