Yeah I'm planning on cutting the casing then bending/hammering it out with a chisel or screwdriver. Should go in alright I think.

I have done these on mine. I think lazy may have inserted his bushes into the old bushes metal outer  . Im sure that seeing you have quite alot of diy experience, you wont have too much trouble with this. I did mine on the bloody road side. There seems to be alot of people saying what a nightmare it is, blah blah. It honestly aint that bad. Like I have said before, the hardest part was lining the beam up for refitting. I was gonna wish you good luck with this, but I dont think you will need it. Any probs, give me a shout.

:afro: Cheers for the heads up dude, I'm pretty sure it is an easy job, can't see it being too hard to be honest. As you said the hardest part is realigning the beam at the end, I did always think that would be the hard bit but I've got a friend over to help so shouldn't be too bad. I'll let you guys know how it goes and try and get pics.

Jesus getting the old bushes out is a challenge! I'm still fighting with bush number 1! I really can't see a way of getting the metal sleeve out to be honest, it's rusted in VERY well! Any one got any tips on removing them with the beam still in the car?

Tried but nothing. Left the car where it was at a mates house up on stands and brought the axle home for a lick of paint. Going to take it to a garage for them to press the casings out and then I'll bring it back to my mates for fitting again. I'll get pics of it when it's done

I hacksawed through mine to break the tension then hammer and chisel. I did however cut a liittle groove in the beam and then sanded it to smooth it
