Cold air intake fitting????

Just recived my cold air intake through the post from ebay.
Wat are u meant to do with the sensor that sits in the top of the air box? the one im on about is the one with 2 electrical connectors!
have searched here for a guide but cant find any.

I take it you car is a early mk4 then and what you are talking about is the ignition amp thats sits on the back of the air box rather than the top. What i did with mine was cable ties it to the big black wire holder. The one that gose from the enging bay into the bulk head. Make shore you fix it down well as thay are felly exensive to replace if you damage yours.

yes it is a 2000 20v turbo.
so that sensor dosent need to be in the air flow?
did u do that with the whole thing or just the outer part that unbolts from the air box?

reattach the heatsink as it will overheat without it, causing misfires (speaking from experience). When I took mine apart I renewed the heat transfer paste in between as it's 10 years old now

It should easly push out of the air box with a little screw driver prizing. I use some M3 duble sided tape to rearach the heatsink.

Its always good being able to speak to someone whos done things before atempting urself!
so just cable tie it up out of the way isi?

yeah same as, just cable tie on to black box but dont unplug it what i got told
