dash lights...

so my dash lights have never worked for my car...
i bought new led bulbs to replace the old ones with thinking it would solve the problem..
afer replacing found out that it didnt help. dash lights still wont work. even took them out put them back in differently over and over again with the same result every time.
what would you suggest i do to figure the problem out...


another problem is my tail lights. my brake lights worked fine but my tail lights not so much. so i checked the fuses and they were fine. when i put them back in my brake lights stopped working. very frusterating. is there anything you can think of that i can try?

I had the first problem on my MK1 recently, turned out to be the dimmer switch, play with that and see what happens, if they flicker when you play with the dimmer then you need a new switch ot need to service the one you have.

After reading your second problem it seems you may have a loose connection block in the back of the fuse box, this may actually be the same problem affecting the above rather than the switch...

First port of call would be chck the connections at the back of your fusebox

As above, I'd check the headlight switch, make sure the contacts are clean and the dimmer is working as it should.

the wires leading from my headlight switch were all burn up pretty much. the plastic surrounding was melted off and everything. but bought a new one. taillights/brake lights are re wired and im good to go. thanks for the info.
