Full Beams

I've just bought a 51 plate 1.8T.
It's a great car miles better than the 306 I had last. But theres a few niggles that have shown up that are spoiling my fun slightly.
When I put on my full beams the blue indicator light on the dash doesn't light up, Ive had it back to the dealer and have been told that they need to order a part, they didn't specify what part. Since getting it back the seat belt warning light has been constantly on! The car also has a pull to the left. The car is still under warranty and the dealer assures me all will be rectified. As anyone else had or known of these glitches. I don't want to lose my faith as the GTI is the only car on the road that I really want to own.

My GTI has ALWAYS pulled to left, have moaned to dealers about it and they said it 'was a characteristic' of the car.  Yeah, right.  Some poeple have this problem, some don't, it's almost a lottery.  Have learnt to live with it, doesn't pull that much and if I ever take it to a NASCAR circuit, I'll be laughing!

How badly do they pull to the left as most cars will anyway due to the camber of the roads

Mine pulls to the left even if the road is completely flat.  It's difficult to put a measure on it but I'd say that driving along a flat, straight single-carriage A-road at 50mph, I'd be hitting the curb within 5 seconds if I let go of the steering wheel.  It's not as bad as it may sound, as I said I've learnt to live with it.

If you really wanted to sort it you could get the wheels balanced, check the wheel allignment and maybe even get the camber checked, I know I would. I think the dealer fob off about characteristics of the car is a peach though

The cars been into the garage and they've sorted the pull, but they still can't trace the fault as to why the full beam indicator light doesn't come on. This is after they put in a whole new panel and the light still never came on. My only concern is that the car was serviced and MOT'ed before I collected it, by them. correct me if I'm wrong but would in not be a MOT failure if the blue indicator light wasn't working. Anyway the garage has admitted defeat and has passed the car on to a VW dealer to have a look. I might add that the after sales service of the garage where I purchased the car has been terrible. (not a VW dealer)

so does mine, only very very slightly, although im pretty sure its only done it since i smacked the sh1t out of the wheel when i couldnt get the locking wheel nut off

I've had the balance and alignment checked, but with no luck.  I don't really notice it now anyway.  I'm more worried about when it's going to develop the MAF and electric window problems; I've already had the rear washer pipe popping off and knackering my boot catch.  Mine's a company car, just out of warranty, so i can't really catch this faults before they bite me in the ass, no lease company would pay for things that haven't gone wrong yet!  But so far, so good!

My 1.8T madly pulled to the left too.Dealer said it was a "golf thing mate"??.Big shock to me when the window fell in as well.
(VW met me halfway on that one).Had to stick wedges all over the dash to quieten the rattles!!! Traded in for the PD150 and have all the above still except waiting for the window drop.. Happy as a pig in sh1t tho....
