So.................I Broke My First CV Joint
« on: 11 September 2010, 22:11 »
Had a little bang the other day and had to tickle the car the last mile home, turns out my inner cv joint had exploded

Done a bit of research and it's one of those things that happens when running quite low.

Going to modify my old drive shaft to hopefully solve the problem, drive shaft binding on the cv cup sucks.

Going to grind some metal off the CV cup to prevent the shaft binding on it.

OUCH, the only other option is to put shims on the engine mounts or do some C notching

I broke the law of dubbing yesterday, actually raised my coilovers slightly

It's not binding on the chassis,it's the actual cup that the inner cv joint is sat in that the shaft is binding against.Shims are on my to do list, couple that with a modified cv cup and i should be laughing.
