Clutch slip????

I am sure that sometimes, that is very rarely, my clutch slips, however I have done a bit on the search function and apparently there is a sensor that can cause this to occur.

Is this true? if so what sensor /location is it? how do I check?

Is sticking the car in 4th and trying to pull off a sure fire way of detecting any slippage?

A mate of mine has an Audi A4 and has just had his clutch done, he says his car now feels alot better than it used to.

Any ideas?

When you try and floor it in 3rd and 4th you would notice and feel it slipping.. I dont think pulling away in 4th would be a good test as a lot of cars would struggle to pull away in 4th good clutch or not..

Cheers, my impression was that the car should stall, not good for the engine I thought.

So just to clarify, if I floor it in 3rd and revs go up but speed doesn't then clutch is definately slipping, not a sensor?

What kind of speed should I be going before trying it?

Yes the revs should increase and speed stay roughly the same there is no set speed just get to say 2000rpm then floor and see what happens.. Even if its slightly slipping you will notice
