1.

I just lost the key to my lockin wheel nut too. Solution get a socket thats quite a bit smaller then a lump hammer and hammer em on so theyre tight.  Then get em off usin a torque wrench.  You will need to put the socket in a vice after to get the lockin nut out otherwise u will need 4 separate sockets.

2.

Must be your bump stops on your shock absorber

The whole shock has to be removed to replace these...

If u are doing this it may be worth investing in a complete new set (they have to be done as a pair really)

yeah the old hammer on a socket seems to be the way to go for these. even better if you've got the use of an air tool.
i'd say bump stops as well but if it looks like the car as dropped it may be something more serious. either way the suspensions got to come out, good excuse to upgrade your shocks and springs??

Its probably not the bump stops causing the drop, but the rubber spring seats which you can see are knackered.? But if the spring seats are buggered then likely the bump stops are too, so replace these at the same time.

'Ave a look at this guide, it covers everything you need to know?

If you want cheap have a look at Euro Car Parts, they do a streetline kit which consists of 4 bilstein shocks and four Ventura lowering springs, I had these put on mine last week and they are ok for the money. I paid ?135 from ECP in Leeds but mine's mk1, I think the mk2 sets are about ?175, see deals and discounts and Stuart at the Leeds branch will give you 10% off for using this site and probably get them to you the next day if they are in stock.

Just had my car looked at from a mate. Got a few problems for the Mot....

Rear bump stops shagged, due 2 the springs being shagged.

Can u change the springs+stops without changing the struts??

Another problem, don't know what springs I've got on the front.. so what 2 put on the bck..
How much do bump stops cost? couldn't find them in euro car parts..

Rear bck box mounting corroded and broking into 2 - any recommendations on a low budget bck box??

Rear disc r shagged..

Not what i wanted 2 hear..

Any ideas on how much it's gonna cost then??
