does it look pitted? bird sh!te is high in lime and will burn your paint if left on, hand polishing will reduce its appearance a bit but it really needs some carefull machine polishing to remove it completely,
depending on the sevarity of the bird sh!te and how long its been on there will determin how bad the damage is. in some cases the burn is to deep to remove.
try and get some pics up if poss.

if you have no machine polishing experience id recomend getting a DA polisher as its far less aggressive than a rotory polisher, 900 is quite a fast start up speed and not ideal for spreading polish, plus does the machine have soft start? the standard fitment for automotive rotorys is m14.

one of these http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Kestrel_Dual_Action_Polisher_1.html

far less aggressive than a rotory, they are ideal for a begginer to machine polishing as they are quite forgiving, rotorys are unforgiving and can cause damage in seconds so you need to know what your doing before you grab one and start using it.

Hi guys, after washing, polishing and waxing the car this weekend I noticed scratches and stone chips and have pondered the idea of removing them myself... never done it before but to be honest I'm quite good and turning my hand to mostthings and after a few read ups it doesnt seem too complicated a task...

With the DAP recomended above will this deal with polishing out the repaired chips and removing the scratches?
