Seat Adjustment
« on: 07 September 2010, 15:15 »
Does anyone else find that the chair back slips a bit?

I kept finding a comfortable position to have the seat set at, just to get in the car the next time, and find that I felt like I was sitting too far back. I happened so often that I used a black marker to show the position on the seat back winder, and it definately slips.

Is it just me?
Can it be tightened up so it doesnt do it anymore?

Cheers

Mine does it and has had a seat frame replaced once already, it's better but still does it.

The dealer will probably struggle to reproduce the fault so it make take some explaining to connivence them to do the work.

i'm curious, are you a 3 door or 5 door here?
i'm guessing a 5 door this is less likely to happen as the front seats don't need to slide to let passengers in the back seat?

I have to agree with SteveP. I find that I am constantly adjusting however you will find this hard to explain to the dealer. I had the same issue in my Passat 1.8T Sport a few years ago. I just put it down to the seats but there is obviously more to it??

I've had this issue with all my cars except this Golf GTi. Can't believe my one bit of good luck.

Nah, I`m a 3 door.
She was in for a service on Saturday, mentioned it as I handed my keys over, but was told that they`ll need it for a day so that one of the techs could take a run in it, maybe taking another guy to collect or dropping off another car...

...I dont really fancy that somehow. Maybe next time its in for a service.

At least its not just me.
