I think Saint Steve echoes what I spoke to you on the phone about earlier today

Revo puts a tremendous amount of development into their maps and the beauty is that you can tinker with the settings to get the best from the map once you get to know your way around VCDS, have an SPS+ controller and know how to read the figures.
Bluefin is a decent map and I wouldn't knock it.......except for ultimately they don't give the best figures, are generic, too smooth for my liking and dealing with downloaded maps, rather than personal interaction doesn't suit me.
Custom maps have both upsides and downsides. To get a good custom map the person doing the map has to have extensive knowledge about the specific car they are tuning. If they don't appear to, walk away......quickly. On the positive side a good custom map will give you good gains, a smooth map and will be tuned to make your car run safely as well as strongly. Personally I'd want the person doing the map to do extensive on-road or dyno logging through VCDS whilst tuning the car and wouldn't entertain anyone who simply turns up at your house and pops on a generic map without even driving the car.
HTH.
