Approaching 12 months and 12k miles.

No problems at all.

Still amazed at how fast it is.

It is the perfect car. Simple as that.

Had mine a year now,
the only thing that it has been back to the dealer for is the creaking doors, a quick adjustment of the striker plates sorted that,

Neil, didn't want my strikers adjusting because I thought it would take the doors out of line with the bodywork [They are prefectly aligned at present] Can you notice any difference with the alignment of yours since it was done? You see, I have a small problem with one or two door creaks, but my dealer said they wanted the car for 3 days to check it out!  Didn't want my car stripping down for what is after all a minor annoyance which I can live with, but if adjusting the strikers cures it without causing any misalignment with the bodywork I'll go for trying that.
Other than that I still look forward to driving my car every day.

The best car I have ever owned - she is the total package!

I've also noticed after nearly a year of ownership I've got a slight dent (on driver side), which I'm gutted as I wanted the bodywork to be perfect (doesn't include chips) for our 1st anniversary

Hi Rick,
no problem with alignment on mine, perfectly aligned just as it went in, the clunking noise that i had is the striker plates,
The creaking noise that some are experiancing is the rubber door seals, just need some lube
Mk6 Gti Gone but not forgtten

Mine has one odd problem.  When using one key only (unfortunately the one I can actually find at the moment), the left wing mirror doesn't do that kerb-view thing properly, in reverse.  It changes its angle, but it doesn't let you see down to the kerb.  Works perfectly with the spare key, and I'd switch them if I knew where I left the spare....

13 months and nearly 13000 miles on it's still the best car I've ever owned. I echo all the other positive comments on this thread.

Had mine nearly a year now as well and now and absolutaly love it. Squeek in the back at the moment but apart from that no problems. Gained a few stone chips but not an unusual amount tbo based on millage.

I would definatly buy another GTI again...... when's the Mk7 out then?

I live in constant fear though of kerbing my Monza's which has sent me on a mission of finding alternative winter wheels.......
