seat tilt roller, swapping sides ?
« on: 18 January 2005, 23:21 »

I need to change my seat tilt rollers to the other side, so I can fit a center console arm rest.

First and fore most I need to know if it can be done ? (save me messing around at scrappies and with my own seats)

Has an one done it and got any advice?

Cheer

only that those centre console suck ass. i bought one, decided it was sh!te, sold it. i didn't want to go messing up my seats just for a bit of badly made bodge. looked good when i positioned it and would probably be a nice thing to have but they are sooooooo badly made.  pissed me off more than it was worth. plus it was almost impossible to put your seat belt on with it in place. you'd have to get longer arms for the catch or something.

GtiJoe

When I got it, I thought the same - load of sh*t !  But your right it does look nice and would be a nice thing to have.

As an Engineer by trade I had to make a few mods !!! strenghting, better brackets, and had the top re-trimmed in black leather, etc

I think I'm going to destroy a seat from the scrappy on Saturday and see what I can do ! check out that catch issue too.

yeah i know what you mean, but i just thought it was sh!tty to have to do so much work to get something that is apparently 'designed' for the car. more hassle than it was worth. and similar to you, i have a degree in product design and god knows how these things got made! the brackets are made of proper monkey metal!
