alarms????

I have a gti 1998. I am renewing my car insurance and really need to know the make and model of my alarm. I think its laserline. it is the standard alarm.

I would really appreciate it if anyone knows what model alarm is in my car.

unless you got a cert for it its not goner matter mate the insurance wont accept it

I assume you have the key fobs, what do they say?
You are gonna need to get a alarm dealer to check it over and give you another certificate, otherwise as Rain said, the insurance companies won't wanna know.

Ive just recently had the same problem.. mines a 95 GTI 16v and was told id need the certificate so i went to my local alarm dealer and they did me a certificate for a beer.. (wink wink). i argued with the insurance company first though as i thought the alarm was a factory standard version and was told that factory standard alarms were not fitted until 1998 so i would go back to ur insurnace company and say u think its got a standard factory fitted alarm and see what they say... My insurance company are tesco's... the lady double checked the info.
