Yet more problems, considering getting rid of my MK6, help!

So yet again I've got a leak problem which is corrupting the electrics and internal computer etc.

I've had the bloody car in the garage 3 times in 12 months for the same reason.

This time the water coming through was so bad it started leaking on my feet whilst driving resulting in a torrent of water.

The electrics went hay wire, every warning light came on etc etc just as usual. It seems that when we get rain, the car stores water and it mucks the electrics up. It's at the dealer now and again I'm driving a rubbish Polo around whilst it's there.

At what point does a car become unfit for purpose? Where do I stand on giving it back?

it's absolutely reasonable for you to expect a new car will at least keep your feet dry whilst driving. it's not exactly tropical weather we get in Britain is it? most other cars cope with this basic level of comfort fine.

if i were in your position, if it can't be fixed, I'd ask for your money back and get another car. it would be really hard especially as the car will undoubtedly be brilliant in every other respect. but it comes a time when you have to say enough is enough, i'm not going to put up with this any longer. you can't just keep taking it back over and over again.

Yeah that's the problem, the car is the nuts but I can't take it to the garage every time I get  a bit of rain.

More importantly, on each occasion, I've been driving down the motorway with my girlfriend and daughter in the car.

What do they want me to do? Wait for me to crash before taking it back?!

I think I'm going to refuse to take it back on Tuesday and see what they offer me.

I'd be more than happy to have a replacement but also think that would be tempting fate!

It can be very tricky trying to reject a car but trading stadards has to be your next

luckly you are not in bristol as trading standards here are absolute waste of space.  needed their help twice and both times nothing.

First was a head gasket job by a main dealer that lasted 4 miles and the other was a car purchased from a trader with what turns out to be an illegal mot, due to the car being classed as dangerous and unfit for the road after 11  miles.
